Follow

Introduction

Cloud Cart supports QuickBooks Canada. Cloud Cart will match tax codes from QuickBooks to the shipping address region.

How do I get the tax codes to appear in Cloud Cart?

Tax codes are pulled from QuickBooks. Login to QuickBooks. On the left, click sales tax. Set it up, if asked. Close your browser and return to our site. You should see the codes.

How does it work?

Cloud Cart maps a sales tax code to a region. If you mapped GST for British Colombia, Cloud Cart would apply GST on all items and shipping. To map a code, follow these steps:

  1. Log into Cloud Cart.
  2. Click configure at my connections.
  3. On the left of the configure page, click Sales Tax Mapping.
  4. Click the Action button and Add New Tax Code.
  5. Add a mapping.

Here is the end result:

If I don't map a tax code, what happens?

Cloud Cart will apply exempt to the order.

Yes, you can map a single QuickBooks tax code that will apply GST/PST to orders. Here are some choices:

My shipping tax codes are different than my item tax codes. How do I map the tax code on shipping?

By default, Cloud Cart will apply the same tax code to products and shipping. Here is an example Magento order where tax on items and shipping is different. If you want to apply a different tax code to shipping, follow these steps:

  1. Log into Cloud Cart.
  2. Select Sales Tax Mapping in the left nav.
  3. Select Import Tax Mapping in the left nav.
  4. Download this sheet, change the Map From to the two letter region from Canada. Change the Map To column to the QuickBooks tax code for shipping.
  5. Upload the sheet by selecting Choose File and then click the Submit Form button.
