How do I insert tracking numbers on invoices or sales receipts?



QuickBooks Online has a separate field for tracking number, which is inserted automatically if it is included in the order.

If you want to use the pre-built tracking number field, you must turn on the shipping field:

  1. Login to QuickBooks Online.
  2. Click the gear box.
  3. Click company settings.
  4. Under the sales tab, enable shipping: 
  5. Create a new sales receipt or invoice and notice the new fields:

You must export orders when they have shipped: 

  1. Login to
  2. Click submit at the My Connections page.
  3. On the settings page, click advanced.
  4. Select use QuickBooks Online shipping field. Otherwise, the field will remain empty, but the shipping will be added as a line item.
  5. Go to the order export tab.
  6. In the order status field, enter shipped.

If you want to add the tracking as a line item, go to the Advanced tab and click "insert tracking as line item." Click save and sync.
