You must create a custom app inside of Square and obtain an access token, application id and application secret.

Custom App

You must set-up a custom app inside of the Square App Store. Here are the steps:

  1. Go to http://connect.squareup.com
  2. Login to your Square account.
  3. On the top menu, click apps.
  4. Click new app: 
  5. Enter Cloud Cart Connector as the name
  6. In the Redirect URL field, enter https://www.cloudcartconnector.com/integrations/squareauthcallback
  7. Click save and your screen should look like this
  8. Go to cloudcartconnector.com
  9. Sign in with your Intuit account.
  10. Choose Square.
  11. Enter your access token, application id, application secret into the fields specified.
  12. Click submit.


Export Orders or Payments

If you are selling through Square's online store, you can export those orders instead of the payments. Here are the steps:

  1. At the configure page, go to the order export tab.
  2. Under the order status, enter payments to pull payments only. Enter orders to pull orders from your Square online store. If you're only swiping cards on a POS, enter payments.

Transaction Fees

Here are the steps:

  1. Login to www.squareup.com.
  2. Go to sales > reports > sales summary.
  3. Choose the dates for the orders you want to export.
  4. Scroll down and note the value in the fees row.
  5. Go back to QuickBooks Online.
  6. Click the plus sign > deposits
  7. Under all new deposits, enter Square as the vendor and the fees as a negative number.
