QuickBooks Online has an item type called bundled items, which are kits. A bundled item will remove its sub items from inventory and calculate the COGS per item. Bundles have drawbacks, which include overriding the pricing.
Bundled items have no price. How does Cloud Cart calculate the price?
Cloud Cart Connector rarely receives the sub items of a bundle and it receives the bundle SKU and a price. Since Cloud Cart cannot determine the price of the sub items, the price of a bundle is the sum of its items.
The bundled item price is different than the price of the sale. Does Cloud Cart adjust the price?
Yes, Cloud Cart Connector will adjust the price of the first item of the bundle to match the unit price. All other items will have a unit price of $0 in the bundle.
Here is an example:
The order is $100. Here is the bundle in QuickBooks:
- Item one has a price of $75
- Item two has a price of $60
After the change, here is how it appears:
- Item one has a price of $100
- Item two has a price of $0
How does the discount appear?
You will see a line item called orderdiscount. Here is an example.
How do I change the price of sub items in the bundle?
You can change the price of the items in the products and services list:
- Log into QuickBooks.
- Click the gear.
- Click products and services.
- Find the products inside the bundle.
- Double click the row.
- Change the unit price.
Ideally, you should sell your bundled item for the same price as your store. If your bundle is $19.99 and your store sells it for $14.99, Cloud Cart will add a $5 discount to the sale.
